Lorna Bliss made an impression as soon as she walked onto the stage at the X Factor UK. As a Britney Spears impersonator, she was certain that she would be an unforgettable act. Well, she certainly was memorable…though perhaps not in the way she had hoped.
Her outrageous performance had the judges’ mouths agape and the audience howling. Unfortunately, it fell short on talent and originality. Still, I couldn’t help but feel a tad sorry for her when they tell her their decisions. You can’t deny that she had heart.
This wasn’t Lorna’s first time on a talent competition stage, either. She made a national television debut when she auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent. After a similarly outrageous performance, David Hasselhoff asked her to compete in the semi-finals despite having initially failed to pass previous auditions. She did not make it past the semi-finals, though, when the judges declared that she had failed to deliver the same spectacle they saw at the first audition. It seems she took that advice to heart and focused her attention on delivering more shock and spectacle rather than on honing her singing talents.
What did you think of her performance? Do you see any potential in her, or was this just a mistake all around?
