Alex and Sierra were just a couple of college kids when they auditioned for the third season of The X Factor USA. However, after witnessing performances like this one, it’s no surprise that the young couple went on to win the entire show. In fact, Judges Kelly Rowland and Demi Lovato were both reduced to physical tears after the duo’s emotional rendition of Sara Bareilles’ hit song, “Gravity.”
Originally from Florida, All Music reports that Alex Kinsey and Sierra Deaton were high school acquaintances, but reconnected in college as musical partners (not to mention boyfriend and girlfriend). What began as a hobby of uploading duets online turned into a winning stint on The X Factor, which earned them both Simon Cowell’s mentorship as well as a one million dollar contract with Sony Music Entertainment. Now recording artists with a slew of catchy original songs under their belt, we have a feeling Alex & Sierra are here to stay.
